A long way from 'form follows function'. Obviously, and primarily, designed to be novel, to be noticed and to look good in architectural publications - especially from selected elevations. Very interesting but indulgent crap. by clients who have more money than they know what to do with and don't really care if the buildings work or not so long as it attracts attention.
Is Calatrava deconstructivist? I think better examples would found in the work of Daniel Libeskind, Rem Koolhaas, Peter Eisenman, Zaha Hadid, Coop Himmelb(l)au, and Bernard Tschumi.
