Bay Lake Cabin
All the client wanted was to preserve the character of the lodge, modernize the layout, improve the natural lighting, and create an effective building envelope. What they got was a stunning renovation with great lakeside curb appeal. To bring in more natural light and improve lake views, the architects added a large dormer and several new windows, each replicated with custom millwork to match the original 1930's window detail.
Wildflower Cabin
Once housing for United States Forest Service workers, Wildflower Cabin retains that old-time cabin feel with log trusses, exposed rafters and it's original brick fireplace. It sits near Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino National Forest, California. Perfect in summer as well as the winter months, the space is a rustic-modern that could appeal to anyone's taste. The most exciting part of the cabin, other than the outdoor space, is the loft which is situated over the kitchen adjacent to the main living space. From here you can see most of the activity happening within the cabin, or if you choose to, seclude yourself in it.
Hawkeye Cabin at Great Camp Uncas
Hawkeye cabin one of the two guest cabins located on the property of Camp Uncas. American financier J.P. Morgan used the retreat as his vacation residence up until the 1940's. Hawkeye, as well as the other cabin, Chingachgook were named after characters in the book The Last of the Mohicans. Although it's been restored, the property maintains a rustic feel because most of the furniture that is present is original. With all it's paired down furnishings and simple style Hawkeye cabin is modern, comfortable and relevant for any palette.
Camp Wobniar
Warm, cozy, rustic and charming, Camp Wobniar invites you to experience outdoor living at it's finest. Carefully refurbished, this private cabin with 80 feet of lakeshore along Rainbow Lake offers quiet, contemplative views to enjoy. Vaulted wood ceilings, log beams and pine walls emit the fragrance of the woods. The dining area on the porch is great must-have when whittling away the days in leisure.
Camp Fieldstone
This historic Arts & Crafts-era estate was built by inventor Harry Marvin, founder of The Biograph Film Company. Local materials were used throughout the property which includes all of the fieldstone in the foundation, chimney masonry, and elsewhere. Hence the name Camp Fieldstone. The property affords sweeping vistas of Fourth Lake and the mountain landscape throughout. There is a large dock in the front of the two main buildings, that sits just steps from the open patio overlooking the lake, inviting you to spend hours in sedentary relaxation. This property's lineage is filled with intrigue and historical significance, and was also the home to a Titanic survivor at one point.
