Neumatt Sports Facility - Exterior/Entrance

Departing from the expected palettes used in many sports centers, this complex uses a wide array of bright colors in order to enliven the spaces within, motivate users in staying active but most of all, to have people actually want to stay and use the facility for a long time just because it is fun. Additionally, the bright colors are also functional where they are used for way finding and room signage.

In contrast to the inside, the outside is comparatively demure where translucent glass is used for the facade to reflect the sky during day time and emit soft glow at night. There is a double height clerestory to let light in to make the colors even brighter. Another notable design element upon closer look is of a sports icon or pattern repeated throughout the facade giving this complex further unique characteristics.
