San Wayao Community Center - Exterior/Landscape

More than a sports facility, this project grew from the need of a communal center for its neighborhood of all ages. This public recreational center houses a swimming pool, fitness center, tennis court, basketball court, squash court, ping pong table, billiards table, gate ball court, outdoor fitness center, and playground for kids.

In terms of the architectural massing, the dominant sloping shape allows a walkable sloping continuous roof to exist with big steps underneath that both serves as seating and a path. The sloping lawn portions on either side is where people can casually gather and enjoy outdoor activities such as yoga.
