This area of the city needed a sports center encompassing an indoor basketball court, indoor (open-air) swimming pool, a multipurpose outdoor court, and a gymnasium with servicing locker rooms. The scale of the massing relates to the existing buildings in the same park. In order to maximize the street to inside relationship, the glass facade maximizes the facade's transparency with wooden slats for sun protection while blending with the adjacent trees.
Hidden inside, one can also find the remains of the walls of the former Citadel built by King Felipe V in 1714 that was found on the site. These walls were left in tact and are visible around the swimming pool.
