National Library of Israel - concept design

This monument by Herzog & de Meuron is currently under construction. Once done, cladded with stone, the library will stand proudly with its concave roof where once inside, one will realize that this roof pours in light into the two upper stories and down into four subterranean levels. Rich with program, people and books, this national library will truly serve its civic duties once open.
