The Belgian artists who created this massive installation out of local pinewood for the 2006 Burning Man called it Uchronia. It took 50,000 pieces of 2 x 4 - a hundred miles worth - and a crew of nearly 100 paid employees to construct Uchronia on the Playa (Dessert), overseen by Belgians artist Arne Quinze and "non-conventional entrepreneur" Jan Kriekels. Uchronia cost around $800,000 to build, and was ceremonially burned towards the end of the festival (like all other big BM art) to comply with one of Burning Man's core principals of "leave no trace" (leave nothing behind).
It was quickly dubbed "The Belgian Waffle" and it was the hottest nightclub in the world, for one night only.
