West Harlem Piers Park was historically a shopping center parking lot. Now, it is a thriving two-acre waterfront gem that connects West Harlem to the Hudson River greenway. Where access to the river had been cut off in the past, it is now enhanced through the creation of new piers. Pedestrian access is prioritised, interspersed with elements such as granite benches, lawn, and triangular planters.
