As well as reducing energy consumption, one of the best objectives of this project was the use of traditional building systems in its' construction. Building with traditional materials within a traditional format allows architects to solve current problems in construction. Passive cooling and heating are usually tackled when using vernacular architecture as a stepping stone. This home is a product of old and new techniques in concert with one another.
