Spunlaid nonwovens are made in one continuous process. Fibers are spun first and then dispersed into a web forming a fabric sheet. A Colback nonwoven is a spunlaid continuous bi-component product consisting of two types of polymer filaments and is known for its tensile strength, tear resistance, nail holding strength and end-product flexibility and stability. Additional characteristics such as fire retardancy and stability are due to the inlay of materials such as glass scrim. The open structure contributes to flexibility and an ideal situation for excellent saturation and fast impregnation for bitumen and polymer roofing.
