Aluminum wire mesh panels are offered for highly corrosive environments, such as Florida and along the coastlines. Aluminum wire mesh must be a larger gauge than steel in order to meet the 50 lb. on 1 sq. ft. loading requirement. Panels cannot be anodized, since the weld marks at the corners have a different shade post anodizing than the rest of the panel and U channel. In order to meet loading requirements, Hollaender specifies .250 in. diameter wire with 11 gauge hems.
Since aluminum is often required in Florida, it is often also specified with AAMA 2605 coatings, which are super resistant to loss of gloss and color. Hollaender can provide Kynar coatings that meet this specification.
In less "high sun exposure" applications, AAMA 2604, powder coat is satisfactory.
The Hollaender Manufacturing Company produces a wide array of architectural railing systems, from non-welded aluminum to stainless steel structural glass. Our recognized railing designs include Interna-Rail®, Speed-Rail® and Newman by Hollaender™ (formerly known as Newman Brothers Railing).
These guard railing systems meet the IBC and ADA codes and Hollaender Engineering Staff can provide delegated design services to demonstrate our compliance.
