A sculpted, almost primitive table, this icon of formal purity was first designed in 1985 by Lella and Massimo Vignelli and has now been revisited by Poltrona Frau. Mesa table combines the two simple geometric shapes of a circle and a cone.
The top is composed of Ligurian slate which, thanks to the traditional splitting technique, retains the rock's natural grooves and lines on the surface. The supporting column is made from grey Pietra Serena sandstone. The overall effect is a physical monolith which is solid and compact yet light at the same time.
The junction between the table top and the column is formed of tubular burnished steel and is mounted with three brackets whose adjustable spacers make it possible to change the position of the top.
Coming from solid Italian origins with an international reach, Poltrona Frau is a leader in top of the range furniture, and is a spokesman throughout the world for the values associated with the design and production of Italian-made goods.
