SL70 is a monumentally-sized, thermally broken aluminum framed folding panel system designed to provide an opening glass wall or storefront up to 39′ (12 m) wide. Frame height up to 12′ (3650 mm) and panel width up to 4′ are possible. It is available in various configurations utilizing one to twelve panels . Angled units of 90º, 135º and Segmented angles between panels of up to 6° is also possible. The running astragal design provides extra stability, ease of operation, and long-term commercial use. The system is thermally broken with a wide polyamide plastic reinforced with glass fibers. This thermal barrier provides increased strength, superior humidity control, improved acoustics, and energy savings.
SL70 has been tested by an independent lab for acoustical performance; STC 48 insulated laminated glass achieved STC and Rw values of 43 and OITC of 35. The system meets the German "DIN EN 1191/12400 Classification," where a unit is tested after 20,000 opening and closing cycles and is still functional. Swing Panel attached to side jamb has passed 500,000 cycles.
