Custom Wood Butcher Block Countertops with Overmount or Undermount Sinks

Butcher Block Countertops manufactured by Grothouse can be safely used with undermount sinks. The opening is properly sealed with an invisible barrier to protect from water damage. Proper care should be taken not to allow standing water around the sink area and proper oiling of the butcher block surface will assist in protecting your surface.

The butcher block will overhang the sink opening by roughly 1/8" so the top lip of the sink is not visible. If the sink is custom manufactured, it may require you to send the sink to Grothouse to assure we cut a proper sink opening size. Most sinks manufacturers have templates available on line for us to use for cut out specifications. The opening for the sink is relieved to 1-1/2" for comfortable access to the sink cavity.
