Although the 2012 Olympics may have finished, AEgis Technologies is lending a hand to showcase London to the world! AEgis Technologies has developed 3D models of London landmarks such as the Tower of London, Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abby, and new features of the city such as Westfield Mall and train station. The database of about 300 high and medium fidelity 3D models cover more than 2,600sqkm in London.
The models are in Open Scene Graph (OSG) format, and with the LightINT viewing software (AEgis in-house development), the database has excellent ease of viewing. The images below just show how awesome these landmarks look, it's fantastic to see such historic architecture in 3D! Could we go even further and make such landmarks in BIM? It would be fantastic to see such famous landmarks in BIM for future reference.
